Sæplast grid plates, often referred to as integrated waste separator grids or brine grids, are essential components used in specialized shellfish containers to improve hygiene and product quality during depuration (purification) and storage.
Primary Functions and Benefits
Waste Separation: The grid is placed at the bottom of the container to separate shellfish from mud, sand, and other contaminants that settle during the purging process.
Improved Circulation: They provide lateral support and are designed to work with integrated water channels to ensure an even flow of water and optimal oxygenation for each individual shellfish.
Enhanced Hygiene: By keeping the product elevated above the waste, the grids prevent re-contamination and make the final rinse-down easier.
Compatible Sæplast Containers
Sæplast 460/660/700/ Series: While these are general-purpose insulated containers, they can be fitted with specialized Brine Grids (available with weights, cones, or rounded corners) for soaking or brining applications.
These plate even fit into 600 liter single walled containers
Key Technical Features
Material: Made from food-grade polyethylene (PE), consistent with Sæplast’s triple-wall or double-wall construction.
Lateral Support: The containers are designed with a perimeter that supports the grid securely along the interior wall.
Maintenance: The grids are removable, and the rounded internal corners of the containers allow for a thorough power wash and sanitation between batches
